65th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED AT N.F. RAILWAY (CONSTRUCTION) Hd.


 

The 65th Independence Day was celebrated at N.F. Railway (Construction) Hd. Qtrs. Complex.

Smt. Vijaya Kanth, General Manager/Con unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem and Rastriya Salute. In her Independence Day Speech, GM/Con highlighted on the achievements of Construction Organization since its inception and briefed about the challenges ahead to meet the requirement of providing Rail Connectivity to all the State Capitals of N E Region.

During the ceremony, a cultural program was organized with patriotic songs and dances performed by the children of Railway Staff. For the first time, Bravery Awards for extraordinary acts of courage has been introduced and General Manager (Construction) felicitated the awardees, Sri Satish Kumar JE/Con/Imphal, Sri P.K. Singh, SE/Con/P.Way/Maligaon and Sri Suman Malakar (private vehicle driver of Dy.CE/Con/Imphal) with cash and certificates for their outstanding services.

GM/CON also presented awards to the winners of “On the spot Drawing & Painting Competition” held on 14.08.2011. New Web Pages of Construction Organization and Wi-Fi connection at GM/Con office complex were also inaugurated. Later, the renovated Neelachal Officers Rest House (Construction) at Maligaon was
inaugurated.

 

MEETING OF GM(Con) N F RAILWAY WITH STATE GOVT. OFFICIALS OF MIZORAM

 

 

Smt. Vijaya Kanth, GM/Con & other Sr.Officials of N.F.Rly. Con. Organisation are seen with His Excellency, Lt.Genl. (Retd) M.M.Lakhera, Governor of Mizoram (above) and with Shri V.Pachuau, Chief Secretary, Mizoram in the meeting held on 4.8.2011 at Aizawl.

General Manager (Con), N F Railway, inspected the section between Bhairabi-Sairang new BG line Project on 3rd August 2011 and had a meeting with Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Mizoram and other officials, at Aizawl.

Meeting was also held with HE Lt. Gen. (Retd.) M M Lakhera, Governor of Mizoram, on 4th of August 2011.

During the discussions the issues pertaining to Land Acquisition was stressed upon to the State Government, for completion of the project within targeted period of 2015.

OPENING OF TRAIN SERVICES IN SILIGURI JN-ALUABARI RD SECTION AFTER GAUGE CONVERSION: AND INAUGURATION OF MG RAIL BUS SERVICES AND DMU CAR SHED


 

Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, Shri Dinesh Trivedi, Hon’ble Railway Minister and other dignitaries inaugurated the first BG train in Siliguri-Aluabari section and other projects at Siliguri on 19.07.2011. Shri Keshav Chandra, GM/N.F.Railway and Smt. Vijaya Kanth, GM/Con/N.F.Railway are also seen in the function.

The section between Siliguri Jn. – Aluabari Rd. of 76 kms length with 6 nos. of Railway Stations has been opened for Passenger Traffic by Flagging Off the first train by Mamta Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, on 19.07.2011 in the presence of Shri Dinesh Trivedi, Hon’ble Minister for Railways and other distinguished dignitaries and guests.

MG Rail Bus Services (1st of its kind in NF Railway) between Siliguri Jn.– Bagdogra MG Heritage section was also flagged off and dedicated to the nation. DMU car shed at Siliguri was also inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Railways and Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal.

All the above services which were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation shall facilitate better Rail communication and services in the region.

 

COMMISSIONER OF RAILWAY SAFETY, N F CIRCLE, KOLKATA INSPECTED TWO BRIDGES NO-24 & 26 ON BG ALIGNMENT OF LUMDING- SILCHAR GAUGE CONVERSION PROJECT

Shri Balbir Singh, Commissioner of Railway Safety, N.F.Circle, Kolkata accompanied by Railway officer inspected the new permanent diversion of bridge No-24 & 26 on 21.05.2011. Major Bridge No-24 & 26 between stations Salchapra-Arunachal have been constructed for BG track standard on permanent diversion. Now MG trains will be running over these newly constructed permanent B.G. Diversions, a Milestone for Lumding-Silchar G C Project. CRS also inspected Arunachal – Jiribam & Lumding – Badarpur section under the GC Project. 2 (two) Permanent Diversions have already been commissioned in Badarpur – Silchar section earlier.


COMMISSIONER OF RAILWAY SAFETY INSPECTED THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED NARANGI-THAKURKUCHI DOUBLE LINE

 

Shri Balbir Singh, Commissioner of Railway Safety, N.F.Circle, Kolkata has inspected the newly constructed

B.G. double line from Narangi to Thakurkuchi (9.76 Km) of Guwahati – Digaru Patch Doubling Project under Lumding Division on 19.05.2011. After conducting Motor Trolley inspection from Thakurkuchi to Narangi and speed Train trial was run from Narangi to Thakurkuchi for opening of the new section for passenger traffic. Earlier under the same project from Thakurkuchi to Digaru (15.30 Km) and New Guwahati – Narangi (5 Km) section was completed and commissioned on 30.01.2011 and 19.12.2010 respectively for passenger traffic. New Guwahati – Digaru Patch Doubling project (29.81 Km) was sanctioned in 2007-08 at an estimated cost of Rs.150 Cr. The work involved 9.39 lac cum earthwork, extension of 29 minor bridge, 2 new station building and remodeling of 6 yards.

Rock blasting was required to be carried out in the closevicinity of existing railway track in a controlled manner without any untoward incident under strict supervision.


The CRS, N.F.Circle was accompanied by Sr. Railway Officers from HQs and Lumding Division.
